Answer the following questions in no less than 300 words but no greater than 1000 words put together...
Character's background (their past and present) and personality:
John Sheppard had a bright military career ahead of him in the Air Force, he was bright and a great pilot, as well as a leader. He joined the airforce because he wanted to fly fast planes. His skill set was quickly recognised and he was picked to do a number of top secure missions because of his skills set. Unfortunately John has a problem with authority, and when he believed his orders are wrong, he will do his own thing. Later, this helps him on Atlantis, but in the Air Force it landed him in trouble. When he was Afghanistan he led an unsanctioned mission to rescue three service men. None of the men made it back alive. It left him with black mark, and a need to protect anyone he worked with. He was left to work at the McMurdo Air Force Base in Antarctica.
Luckily for him, there was a team preparing to go and find the lost city of Atlantis. Sheppard proved his flying skills when Dr Carson Beckett unleashed drones he was unable to control. Sheppard brought the helicopter he was flying down safely. With a nose for trouble, he took a seat in an Ancient of Atlantis chair, and discovered he had the gene to operate Ancient Technology. As it was a rare gift, Sheppard was given a second chance to prove himself, this time in a galaxy far removed from Earth’s. Sheppard wasn’t keen to go, but he was convinced it was his duty to the military to go. He had a strong sense of honour, and wanted to prove himself.
Out in the Pegasus Galaxy John and the rest of the team quickly made enemies of the Wraith who fed on human and Ancients and absorbed their life force. Most of John’s time in the Pegasus was hell bent on putting an end to the Wraith once and for all and prevent them reaching earth. Something he played a vary main part in.
At Atlantis, he quickly took the top spot when the original commander was killed on a Wraith ship. He proved that his ability to think outside the box, saved his team and Atlantis on more than one occasion. For example, he teamed up with a Wraith who had briefly been humanised ‘Michael’ to take out the larger threat of other hive ships.
He wasn’t what people expected in a commander. He had a laid back attitude towards paper work, and his hair cut wasn’t exactly military standards. But it was calm under pressure and fiercely protective of his team and preserving life. What he was most afraid of was becoming like the wraith or failing to protect his friends. John will kill if he has to but he will look for the humane option first.
His easy nature and quick jokes his his serious nature, and it made friends of civilians and military alike, despite their differences. When he faced a person problem such as turning into a wraith he tried to deal with it alone and shield his friends. He refused to see them until they found a cure, and told them it was for their own safety.
John is smarter than he lets on. He is able to follow Rodney’s conversations and make suggestions. At one point he does surprise Rodney by telling him he did take the Mensa test and passed. Of course, he never became a member as it would effect his persona of the man who loved to fly fast ships.

Why do you want to play this character in Ten Forward, and what do you plan to do with them? I played John here for a year, after that, real life caught up with me, and I didn't have the time for rp. I decided to drop him so that cr would not be held back because of me. I've all the time in the world for rp again, and want to pick up where I left off!!

Way to go, John - listening to a Wraith!
Feb. 16th, 2015 08:40 pmJohn is used to the weird looks that follow him around the ship, and he jokingly asks people if he's got something on his forehead. No one seems to want to ask him a direct question about his new grey hairs or the wrinkle lines. It's getting a little irritating even though he wouldn't give a straight answer if he was asked.
He feels Jack Harkness' eyes track him across the bar a few days after Todd feeds on him. He raises an eyebrow and doesn't so much stalk over, as walk over at a very sedate pace. "Something wrong?" he asks he as draws level with the table. He hides his irritation and sounds friendly enough, after all, getting trapped in the caves was a bonding experience.

PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Go for it! John is free with claps on the shoulder as a show of solidarity or support, apart from that he isn't the most tactile person. He will not initiate a hug but he will respond to it.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Absolutely, I welcome negative cr as much as I welcome positive cr. I would prefer if we plotted out the extent of the fight before hand. John will leap head first into a fight to protect colleagues and friends. However, he does not have a quick temper and will try some diplomacy if he gets the chance.
He has military training and has learned further hand to hand combat.
MEDICAL HISTORY: John doesn't have any medical problems. As a solider he is physically fit and athletic.
USING POWERS ON THIS CHARACTER: Yes, this isn't a problem. If your character has telepathy, and wants to read his mind I will provide them with the memories.
If your character is able to mind control John, I would ask that you check with me before hand so that I know what I am getting him in to!

Why do you want to play this character in Ten Forward, and what do you plan to do with them? I want to play John Sheppard here because he will be fun. He doesn’t respond well to authority and will follow his own gut when they get off ship. And as a pilot, he seriously wants a chance at flying the Enterprise. He’ll do anything apart from becoming a bug again (because that’s weird) to get one shot at it!
Writing Sample #1:
“No freakin’ way.” John Sheppard thought he had seen it all - Life sucking aliens, alternate universes and the lost city of Atlantis. None of this prepared him for the fact that Enterprise, in some universe was real. Like actually real and not just some science geeks project. Rodney was going to nuts when he found out what he missed out when he got back. He was sure Atlantis would find him sooner or later.
“Just give me a few hours,” he thought. “Long enough to find my way to bridge and find a way to fly this thing.” Provided the people on board were as friendly as the program and weren’t some life sucking aliens. He’d had enough of those. His world was pretty screwed up when he expected the wraith when he went anywhere new. Just a few years ago he hadn’t heard the name.
‘Now, if I remembering correctly…” John was talking to himself but it helped. He found the door to the bar area and stepped in. If he wanted information, he wanted to be around the biggest group of people. That was, after he got some food. The thing that dispensed food had to be…”Got you,” he said as he spotted it on the wall. He knew the name (he just made an effort to forget it). Hoping against hope, he asked for a turkey sandwich. So far, his track record of getting one in brand new potentially threatening, life and death circumstances was nil.
“I like this ship already,” he said with a grin as the turkey sandwich appeared. He studies the replicate with an air of hope. “I don’t suppose you can give me a one way ticket back to my own universe?” Nothing happens. “Figures. It was worth a try.
